ESOF '20 - Ghent

European Student Orchestra Festival

Wind Band

April 15th – April 19th 2020

After the successes of the former orchestra and choir editions of the European Student Orchestra Festival, we are excited to announce a new edition in April of 2020. This festival will be different from the others in that it will be the first for university wind ensembles. It will be held in Ghent, Belgium: the heart of Ghent University and home of GUHO – Ghent University Wind Ensemble.

Check below for more details and for how to register your Wind Ensemble!

Welcome to Ghent

We welcome you to Ghent, the capital of East-Flanders, Belgium. We cannot reveal too much yet, but make sure to bring shoes for walking; you don’t want to miss walking the cobbled streets and discovering all that the city has to offer!

Arrangements and Activities

Of course, we will arrange a place to sleep, to eat, and most importantly to practice. All orchestras will perform a concert. But there is more to life than practice and sleep, and we will offer social and cultural activities to get to know the city and the other students participating – after all this is about music, but also about getting to know other students from different places.

If we all end up in prison one day for illegal music downloads, I can only hope that they divide us by music genres.
